TRUST YOUR EFFORT, ENJOY YOUR PROCESS.
It has been a hectic beginning to 2018 in such an amazing way. A lot has been coming together in my life…personal, professional, and everything else in between. With Erin and I’s wedding getting closer and closer, her MBA school work getting more intense, my entrepreneurial endeavors increasing by each day, OUR PLATE IS FULL. Luckily, we like to eat.. A LOT. 🙂
No lie, some days I wake up and have no clue what day of the week it is, or what is on my schedule for that day. I LOVE IT THOUGH! I have worked extremely hard to get to this point. It can seem overwhelming at times, but I consistently take a step back to see the bigger picture. This helps me remain grounded and appreciate the fact that I have the choice to either be stressed, or to embrace the challenges and enjoy the process of growth.
To THRIVE this week I suggest doing the same thing. Take a step back, pat yourself on the back, and start to enjoy your own individuality and your own process. We tend to be so hard on ourselves because we forget that this is a long journey. I myself forget how far I have already come physically, mentally, and spiritually. The most valuable thing I can tell you is that you must enjoy your day-to-day life. If you do not like your situation today, CHOOSE to work towards improving it. Take that first step, write that first letter, make that first phone call, quietly take that small leap…then you will find yourself taking the second, third, fourth, and enjoying your life that much more.
This post in general is a step for me. With everything going on, I found myself the other day scrolling through old pictures of my friends and family. I do not know about anyone else, but it amazes me to look back on life and think about all the memories and experiences that are packed in. It helps me remember all the good, the bad, and the ugly…just to realize that time is just a blip. We are just a spec in the universe. Why not make every single second a good one? Why not choose to be positive, kind, forgiving, not only to others…but to ourselves. I am not saying to be cheerful every waking minute. Bad things happen, it is okay to be sad, it is okay to feel negative things. But I refuse to let those things define my day, define my year, or define my life. Let them go!
Join me in this moment to take a step back and appreciate all the hard work you’ve done. All the sweat, blood, and tears you have put into your existence. Appreciate those moments, let them guide you with each step you take, and remember WHY you are here. To THRIVE.
The cover photo for this post means a great deal to me. It reminds me that Rome was not built in a day. Small consistent wins, lead to major victories. And even though I look, feel, and act a lot differently today…I am still far from where I want to be. Now though, I am enjoying each and every second of my own process. I am closer than I was yesterday, but still far from where I will be tomorrow. And I am okay with that.
COMING UP SOON
I am on a mission to connect with others and help as many people as possible. One of my favorite things to do is to sit down and have coffee with others who are providing value to our world. As I continue to do that, I will be posting several interviews on here that have made an impact on me. And I hope they will positively influence you as well.
Until then, Cheers y’all!
